NYPD Officer Adopts Dog Found Chained To Fence In Freezing Rain

NEW YORK, New York – An NYPD officer has adopted an abandoned dog he rescued in Brooklyn two months ago and the two have quickly become best friends.

Officer Michael Pascale was patrolling Brooklyn just after Christmas when he noticed a shivering dog chained to a fence in the freezing rain. The pup was soaked and trying to seek shelter from the chilling winds.

Pascale said he looked into the dog’s eyes and knew he had to bring him home.

“I knew I had to take care of him and I had to bring him home and give him all the love and attention that I know he deserves,” Pascale said.

Now, the pup named Joey rides shotgun with Michael in the squad car and the two love to pose for selfies together.

Joey is now warm and well-fed thanks to his new friend, Michael, and will spend the rest of his life far away from any chain fences.
