Last Chance To VOTE – Hero Dog Nominee – Alladin The Pit Bull

This is the story of a little dog doing big things.

His name is Aladdin, or Laddy, and he has his own Facebook page: Aladdin Nation. He needs one these days to keep up with all the charity and therapy work he and his mommy, Michele Schaffer-Stevens, do around our area and across the nation.

But his story has a dark beginning. He ended up broken, beaten and starved at Camden County Animal Shelter. Mark Peters, Founder at Don’t Bully Us Rescue, saw his bony little body and despite what some monstrous human did to him – including breaking his legs and his tail and knocking his teeth out – the pup who would become known as Aladdin tried to wag that broken little tail of his. Mark was hooked and called Michele with Lilo’s Promise Animal Rescue.

Laddy now brings joy to children at Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House, he teaches children in schools about dogs, he lights up the faces of those in hospice and brings comfort to victims of shootings even heading down to Orlando after the Pulse Nightclub massacre. That doesn’t even include the fundraising he does for all kinds of animal charities including Show Your Soft Side or Tito’s Handmade Vodka’s program to fight animal cruelty.

When it comes to heroes, Laddy is most definitely one of mine. In fact, he’s up for the American Humane Hero Dog Awards and you can help him win! Watch this wonderful story Bill Anderson FOX 29 shot and wrote then vote for Aladdin at: herodogawards.org/dog/aladdin
