Comedy Show Aims To End Discrimination Against Pit Bulls

BUFFALO, New York – They’re often called a misunderstood dog breed. Now pit bulls are the focus of a national comedy show that made a stop in Buffalo.

“Stand Up For Pits” raised awareness and money at Helium Comedy Club Sunday night.

The show features several comedians touring the country to help educate people and end discrimination against pit bulls. The event included a donation drive for the city animal shelter.

“Unfortunately, these loyal, loving, smart, strong dogs get into the hands of some terrible people and unfortunately what our society has done for three decades is vilify them and use imagery of them in a negative way,” said Rebecca Corry, Stand Up For Pits comedienne.

Proceeds from the event benefit Buffalo’s Silver Lining Pitbull Rescue and Fix-A-Bull Western New York.

Do something today to educate, advocate and save a life. We are their last chance.
